Quick update

2010 is 8 days away.. I have set some goals to achieve.
1. Reduce 10 KGs
2. Get a promotion.. This will tough, but at least I try my best.
3. Increase my saving by double. Mean spend less.
4. Travel at least 2 times
5. Improve my knowledge on latest technology

Company Money

I am wonder helping a company to save money will it get a thumb up from the boss. In many cases, if we do not use the fund allocated, end of the day someone else will fully utilized the fund. We must well touch the money in a good manner, rather than benefit other. My personal experience, I managed to save few thousands for the company, but my colleague decided to spend the money in 5 minutes.

Yeah, we have to be selfish in the work place. It is a place equal to crocodile swam. A wrong move will cause bad injuries or kill by no time. If you want to learn please go back to the school. The office is not a place to be mercy. Protect your own right. :)

I am sorry, we have communication issue here.

Is a big corporate normally less co-operation between departments? This is how I felt in the current company. I hardly know people in other departments. Unlike my previous company, I basically know who and who.

In general, I felt the current division I work in is lacking of leadership. They still maintain the same old process for the past n years. Everything is in a box. It could be challenge for open the box. Are they ready for the changes will be other big questions?

Being a risk taker, I have planned to introduce new solution in different stages when they are ready; however, I have to do my homework first and plan out the master plan.

Have you been labeled?

As I still new to this company, am yet to be label to any political group. Commonly, we trend to be on the immediate boss's group, or rather the similar interest. Unless you have someone high up to cast a protected spell.

The 3 kingdoms

The "3 kingdoms" is a good description of my current work place. My department is technically divided into 3 major groups base on the functionality.

First kingdom - The winter queen ... you can hardly hear any noise in the office.. feeling the chilling air and the the sound of fans & air con.

Second kingdom - The poor snow monkey king .. this kingdom contains of many monkeys. No joke, they are just eating banana most of the time and no need to work. The most hard work they do is making noise, translate into complaints.

Third kingdom - Not enough information at the moment.

The price of seafood.. :(

Got food poison yesterday.. :( Doctor said need at least a week to recover.

Potluck Lunch Photo

A Brand New Path

This is the first Saturday I not required to work after 4 years plus. I have to tell you that I miss it very much. I can take my sweet time to do things as I wish. A good start. :)

Yesterday was my last day in my ex-company, my colleagues organized a potluck lunch in the office. It was great lunch, we all had fun.. but it was sad in a way too. Few of my friends SMS to ask me do I cry? The answer is No. It was emotional but I did not cry; however, my colleagues did.

Bank2Hell..

After 3 phone conversations in a day, the bank, M2Hell, not even had a record of my office address. Now, am not sure when I will received the package from them. Sign!! The customer service is super poor.

As usual the conversation:

Customer Service: "Do you remember who you talk with previously?"
Me: "Do I really need to remember their name? Can they give me a fake name?"
Customer Service: ".... "

Customer Service: "There is no record shown you called previously?"
Me: "Are you telling me your company always missing record?"
Customer Service: "No.. I did not mean that...."

Me: "Can I speak to your supervisor?"
Customer Service: "All of them are busy at the moment, Can I ask them to call you back?"
Me: "How many supervisors in the office?"
Customer Service: "All of them are busy at the moment, Can I ask them to call you back?"
Me: "Hello, I asked are they in the office?"
Customer Service: "None"

Finally, I just told them to cancel the shipment and forget on the package. Wasting my time.. :)

New..

After next week, I will start work at the new company. A new chapter in my career, hope it is a good one. :)

Is about time

Today finally received my letter of confirmation of resignation. After many drama happen in the progress of my resignation, at last I got it.

Now I just need to focus on hand over my tasks to the designated person. Plus one more trip to Indonesia.

2 Worlds in A Day.

Yesterday was a busy day. House chores in the morning and 2 lunches.

First, my long time best friend's baby full moon party. He held the event at 1World Hotel. I got to say once a friend got married, we are naturally split into the difference category. Most of the guest were married with children. Hardly see myself fitted into this kind of event. Estimated 150 guests and half of them are children. You have to picture yourself seat in a table with people seat around you talking about baby, parenthood, and family. I just stayed for 1 hour .. the max I could handle in a day.

Running late for my second lunch dated. My ex-colleague tried to match me with her best friend.. ha ha.. anyway, need to play along. Most of them are beautify, intelligent, successful in their own way; however, single. Having great time bitching on the ex-company, travel and foods.

New "Time" Measurement

Have been awhile, My ex colleague and I have not keep in touch. Finally, we met for lunch yesterday.

How long we do not meet each other? Her answer "2 and half boy friend".

Final and official

Time fly.... 4 years 1 months 29 days... another 1 months plus will be the end of my service in this company.

My colleague commented I just give away the empire which I built from ground up.. without waiting for the reward. I have to agreed with her but the opportunity will not knock on my door twice. At the moment, everything is final. After weeks of "music", my boss finally gave up to convince me to stay.

I still remember on the first time I told my boss about my resignation.. he almost cry in front of me, the redness in his eye and a long silent of 5 minutes.

Anyway, am looking forward to the new company. A place for me to call "home" for next few years.
