Room, Image, and Cash

My company will move into a new building soon. My boss asked me do I need a room? I told him no, and I prefer open office layout. He continue and said do I have an image to keep if I don’t have a room.. HA! HA!! an interesting question!!! I replied “No, but it will be nice if company can convert the cost of putting up a room to cash and reward to me.” My boos just smiled and walk away... :)

Is it important to have a room in the workplace? For me, I prefer a handsome increment.
